So, there is a different question meme that I'll be making a post about, but not ready to yet. There's a couple questions I have to do some pondering on.

Instead, this one will be answered for now.

Triggerhappy. Because way back when I first started this journal I couldn't figure out what in the world to use for a journal name. *fret fret*
Ended up going with a partial name of a song that was (still is honestly) one of my favorites at the time - Trigger Happy Jack (Drive By A Go-Go) by Poe, off the Hello album. Lots of reasons to like the song, but in particular it was the "just another one of his Jedi mind tricks" that sealed the deal for choosing it as a title. Seeing how it was because of Star Wars that I wondered into LJ land and all that.

2. My name is _____ because ______.
Melissa. Apparently because my dad liked the name. *shrug*

My journal is titled ____ because ____.
After much fretting about what to call it, went with Destructo-Girl because it seemed a bit apt and also Fandom!Yay!
BTW - the subtitle 'this ain't no head trip honey this is a collision on the road' is also from Trigger Happy Jack. I'm nothing if not consistent, eh?

4. My friends page is called ____ because ____.
Friend's Entries, because I'm lazy. And could think of nothing else to call it.

5. My default userpic is ____ because ____.
Otalia from Guiding Light, because I am still totally stuck on them. Mmmm Otalia mmmmm. They're so spiffy.
And because it's one I'm pretty pleased with. I did pretty good blending, the coloring is interesting and I really like how the texture(s) ended up looking at the bottom especially; it seems like a good representative of my better work. Or something like that.

I love it.

The old trailer house was moved out of it's spot Wednesday; things look kind of weird without it there. LOL The yard light is also really bright now that it's not their to block it shining in my window.

There is proper drop in the septic line from our house now, so it shouldn't freeze and break again. Whooo! I still really wish we'd have just paid someone to do all that way at the beginning, but ah well. 'Tis done.

We have a couple big tarp things on our barn roof that someone gave Papa. They're not normal tarps that you buy, they're actually...honestly, I have no idea what they'd be called. They're sign thingies that you'd see off of freeways and stuff. One is for a motel, the other is for Burger King.
Anyway, one finally blew off off. Wind caught it and it tore threw were it was screwed into a board, so I went up the other day to fix it. The hardest part was getting on the roof, tin was slick with dew, my boots were wet from the muddy ground and my nerves...well, they were barely up for the task. LOL. Mom and I ended up putting some boards up at the edge of the roof so I could get some purchase and make it up to were it wasn't as slick. After that, things went okay, though the tarp was heavy. Ended up using a rake to catch the edge and pull it close enough I could grab it and get it in place. Then crawl further along and repeat that process.
My legs are a bit sore today. Though it was kind of amusing when Mom went to go get a rake. My cat hates to be alone, he didn't know where she went and he could hear me on the roof and was yowling away. Next thing I know, he's at the edge and scrambling to make it all the way onto the roof. Damn near gave me a heart attack.
Oh, and then when I was done and back in the house, find out I'd broken the touch screen on my phone. :( Luckily have insurance on it, so getting it replaced. And also not going to have it in my pocket the next time I go up on a roof.

Now, getting ready to go shoot with my uncle and cousin. It's fun and kind of cathartic to shoot stuff. LOL! I'm actually a pretty decent shot, which is cool, though pretty consistent on being slightly down and to the left.
What is really cool is I can shoot both right handed (my dominant hand) and left handed - since I could, figured it wasn't that big of a deal, but U. Mike is pretty impressed, so woot!

They're also going to take us to trade in our shotgun (Mom got it in the divorce. it's a monster and we don't even shoot it 'cause it kicks so damn hard.) for a handgun. Well, at least see what we can get for it. No idea what we'll get yet, but there's a shooting range that has a lot of guns you can rent and stuff. That'll give me an idea of what fits/feels comfortable in my hand. Am trying to be patient, but pretty damn excited for it all to happen.

DAMN IT!!!! I sort of forgot about Criminal Minds, lost track of time, and missed the first 10 minutes. *cries*

These are the ones rowan_d gave me.

1)horses
My biggest hobby - and most expensive too. ha! In some ways, probably a lifeline as well.
I've been around horses all my life; there's a picture (somewhere) of me on a horse and am maybe around 6 months old. Well, Dad was holding me on but you can barely see his hand in the photo. lol
They mean peace and joy, adventure (even if just pretending as a kid to be a calvary man, a cowboy in the wild-west, an Indian, a jockey), they mean accomplishment. First going from my first pony to my sister's bigger and more horse-like pony, to one of Dad's horses, to being able to ride Papa's (Mom's dad) horses.
Then there's roping and getting better at that, having one of my strengths be my horsemanship, with keeping or getting a horse calm being a big part of that. Becoming good enough that I could help Papa train rope horses. That all of the horses I've owned (okay, so it's only three) were better when I sold them, than when I bought them.
They represent family. Learning to ride while trailing after my sister, hanging out with Dad, hanging out with Papa. Continuing the 'family business' of training rope horses, having all these years of roping with Papa, my uncles, and now my mom.
*shrug* I can't imagine living life without horses being a part of it.

2)quiet
It's what I am, most times. It's what I crave quite often. Being around people is stressful, and I desperately need my quiet time and space to recharge. Although...guess quiet sort of means just alone time for me, as I do generally have a radio or TV on. Huh.

3)family
This one is kind of hard. It just is, so not quite sure how to describe or explain it. It's love and closeness and like even. Being there for each other, helping out, hanging out. It doesn't have to mean one has to be blood to be family. Or that blood automatically means you're family.
Mom, Sis, Papa and Grandma, Mom's younger brother and his wife and kids are my family.
My dad and his family are just relatives. They couldn't be bothered to tell me or Sis Dad's dad died, that Dad had a heart attack, that his wife had a brain tumor. Family doesn't treat someone like that, so...
Mom's older brother used to be family, but he...well. He burned that bridge, so he's just a relative now to. *shrug*
Family doesn't have to be perfect, aren't perfect. But while mistakes may be made, you can't continually walk all over people, take advantage of them or abuse them and still be family. Not for me.

4)loyalty
*blinks* I'm kind of surprised by this one. I don't...I don't think of myself as particularly loyal, though not disloyal either. I'm not going to betray someone or stab them in the back or anything like that, but...
I think to be truly loyal one has to put themselves out there more than I do. I'm not the one that will always be there, but the one passing through.

5)artwork
Oooooh SHINY PRETTIES! *shrug* I'm shallow?
Okay, slightly more serious, artwork is something I really enjoy. It's effort and passion, a vision, it's creating joy or inspires thought or both. It means a calling or an itch to create.
I enjoy playing around in Photoshop, but sometimes get a bigger kick out of searching for things others have created. It's fascinating what people can come up with, and how different people can take the same thing but create something totally different out of it.
And sometimes it's just means something is 'oooh pretty!' and one could look at it all day.

This meme ended up being harder than I thought it would and it's taken awhile to finish this post. Just feel...a bit exposed now I guess. Huh. Weird.

Remember a couple years ago and the whole 'I'm not a plumber' thing? Pipes came apart, it cost $1400 to fix?

Nothing has changed. Still not a plumber. Actually, it's not that I've done more, but that more of what we did then has failed. The drain pipe clogged (froze?) and the pipes have come apart.
Oh, and it looks like the actual water line has also broken somewhere under my bathroom and is leaking all over the place.
At least that is clean water, though.

OH! Aaaaaand guess what the weather is for tonight and tomorrow? Freezing rain. HAHAHAHAFUCKINGHELLHAHAHA*cries*

This is me, yet again, bitching about the whole 'let's do the work ourselves and save money' instead of paying someone who knew what the fuck they were doing in the first place. So far, that whole save money thing has pretty much gone down the drain. SEE WHAT I DID THERE? HAHA*cries*
